If you have a chipset that supports only 32bit addressing and cannot remap part of the address ranges, it does not matter is you use a 64bit operating system, as the chipset will simply not accept addresses larger than 32bit.

As for the video card and its memory, yes, MB of video memory will need to be addresses along with the system memory.

However, video memory is only one part of the system that has to be addressed to function. There are other things as well. The amount of address space that is left for system memory will probably be around 2. However, since you have a P45 Chipset which can support up to 16GB of system memory, there is no 4GB limitation when you use a 64bit operating system.

During booting the computer start up is very fast but from there within windows environment i use the 3. So i should select the third option or there's work around using the HP firmware management tool for BIOS rollback to the previous version.

Furthermore, you can switch between graphics, as to which is default. In that way, if you select nVidia graphics, Windows will show it info. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. April 14, Keep in touch and stay productive with Teams and Officeeven when you're working remotely.

By PremgeniusMay 11, in Hardware Hangout. If you have a 64bit OS then turn on the remap feature and you should have access to the full 4GB. But if your using 64bit then turning it on should give you your full 4Gb. Agreed, a poll for this makes no sense. The setting must match your machine configuration. Opinion should not factor into it That sounds backward. I'm surprised a modern BIOS even has this option most newer bit boards handle this automatically.

In fact, the confusion is probably stemming from how this feature is described. Some probably say "Map devices above 4GB mark. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.
